Sounders FC fans taking over Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, California last Saturday in a match against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Commentator #1: Seattle fans testing the strength of the bleachers right now.
Commentator #2: Boy, they have come in full force.. and full voice.

All the bodies on the pitch is a testament to how scrappy the 2-2 draw was against the San Jose Earthquakes… Well, that, and the field conditions were less than ideal (watered down, much?).

Just before half, Steve Zakuani’s fancy footwork finds O’Brian White’s head to knock in the second goal for the Sounders of the match.
I tried to slow the 2nd gif down at the beginning to show Zak’s footwork, but unfortunately, the angle doesn’t do it any justice.

Post Match Quotes
SOUNDERS FC COACH SIGI SCHMID
Thoughts on Final Result: “We had some turnovers and that always puts you in trouble. We had some chances and they had some chances. It probably could have ended 4-4 and nobody could have complained. But two goals should be enough to win when you’re on the road.” On San Jose: “This is always a tough place to play. The field plays a bit smaller than it is. But San Jose is a good team and they really battled out there tonight.”
SOUNDERS FC MIDFIELDER STEVE ZAKUANI
On Team’s Play: “In the first half I did well running at them on the left side, but in the second we were unable to connect with the wings and I had to go inside to look for the ball. Credit San Jose because they kept the ball really well.” On Opposition: “They’re a quick defensive team. But they like to attack and leave themselves open defensively a bit. With all the chances we created we should make you pay for it. The game was there to be had.”
SOUNDERS FC GOALKEEPER KASEY KELLER
On Trying to Shut Down Chris Wondolowski: “He had a couple of good chances. On the first, if he’d put that a little lower I would’ve had no chance to save it, but sometimes you find yourself in the right place to make the save. I think we focused so much on him that we let a couple guys run through the middle. On the Earthquakes: “They have a good team here, there’s a fun atmosphere, it’s a great pitch to play on and I’m just looking forward to seeing the new stadium.”

Lord have mercy, we should have won that. It wasn’t a pretty match by any stretch of the imagination, but it was still within our grasp.
I still can’t fully comprehend Sigi starting Ianni over Hurtado. Given Hurtado is coming off an injury sustained last season, I hope it’s not a matter of him not being fully match fit, which I doubt, because he has started already this season. On a regular basis, I have no issues with the pairing of Ianni and Parke. They were able to cultivate a workable chemistry last season when we lost Hurtado, but Ianni was beat so many times last night, El Presidente must have been jumping out of his boots.
And Jaqua!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINISH! I know he can be afraid of his left foot, but he needs to give it a freaking chance! And he needs to use his size to win more headers!
Finally, I strongly dislike hearing, “We are waiting for our first win.” With that kind of approach and attitude, the squad could be waiting awhile. They need to earn it and they are very well capable of it.
/Rant over
